HVCH AUXILIARY PREPARES FOR CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS

At this holiday time of year, we often look for the opportunity to remember our loved ones, and the annual Hocking Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary’s “Celebration of Lights” in Worthington Park offers this beautiful opportunity.

The Celebration of Lights is an event where family and friends make a contribution in memory of, or in honor of, loved ones and lights on the tree in the park represent their loved ones. The Auxiliary also places a yellow star in the hospital’s back lobby with the names of the loved ones being honored or remembered. The names will be read out loud, at a special tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, December 2nd, at 5:30 p.m., in Worthington Park. The ceremonial reading of names takes place under the gazebo, and everyone is invited to attend.

“This is a beautiful, peaceful, time in the park and a great time to think of others,” shared Christy Keynes, HVCH Auxiliary President. The tree for this year’s celebration is donated by Brian & Julie Hemsworth, owners of Fancy Plants Landscaping.

To participate and have friends or loved ones recognized at the celebration, donations may be made for $5.00 to honor or memorialize an individual, $10.00 to honor or memorialize a family, and $25.00 to honor a business. You may obtain a star by calling the Community Relations Department at 380-8110. The deadline to have ones honoree/s listed in the Celebration of Lights program is Monday, November 26th.
