About the Area
Logan is nestled in the beautiful countryside of the Hocking Valley in southeastern Ohio. Located at the northern edge of Ohio's Appalachian Country, the Hocking Hills are a unique blend of cliffs, waterfalls, gorges, and forests. Hocking County alone hosts eight state and national parks, national forests, and nature preserves. The scenic Hocking Hills attracts visitors from all over the country. Old Man's Cave is nationally known as a preeminent state park. Camping, hiking, rappelling, biking, fishing, and horseback riding are among the many choices available. Outdoor and recreational activities are abundant in the Hocking Hills area. Logan boasts an exceptional 18 hole golf course, as well as six lighted tennis courts. The winter prompts the skiing season at Snowshoe in nearby West Virginia and you need not look far for the best sledding hills in the country. The school system in Logan is excellent. Nine public and one parochial elementary school feed into one middle school and one countywide high school. Education is viewed as a top priority for our children, with over 50% of them going on for more formal education. Two prestigious Ohio universities are within one hour commutes. Ohio University, located in Athens, Ohio offers a diverse field of studies that includes an Osteopathic Medical School. Ohio State University is world-renowned and has an excellent medical facility. These two schools offer an excellent local resource for CME's. HVCH is proud of its accomplishments and the Logan community.
Logan is located just 50 miles southeast of Columbus via U.S. 33. Fine shopping is only 20 miles away in Lancaster. Athens, which offers many cultural opportunities, is just a short 30 mile drive from Logan.
