Roaring 20s Bids & Brews raises record $50K for HVCH Foundation

The Hocking Valley Community Hospital Foundation netted a record-breaking $50,000 during its 2025 Bids & Brews Benefit, recently held at The Hangar.

Hundreds of guests donned their flapper dresses, fedoras, and pearls for a Roaring 20s–themed evening featuring silent and live auctions, live music, raffles, a table decoration competition, and plenty of food and beverages.

“Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Foundation’s Bids & Brews event this year. The Roaring 20s theme was such fun, and it was wonderful seeing everyone dressed for the occasion,” Stacey Gabriel, HVCH CEO, said. “We are so grateful for the community’s support and appreciate the generous donations we received as well as those who bid. The funds we raised will be used to support the excellent patient care provided by our staff and providers.”

Over the past 39 years, the HVCH Foundation’s auction and golf events have raised more than $2 million for charitable purposes at HVCH.

This year’s Bids & Brews Benefit featured more than 80 items in the silent and live auctions bid off by auctioneer Chris Collins. Food was provided by Chef Moe’s on Main and On the Rise LLC. The beer garden kept the evening’s speakeasy spirit alive with tap truck provided by Destination Drafts and bar service from Hocking Hills Mobile Bartenders. Entertainment was provided by the Cleveland Keys dueling pianos, who kept the crowd singing and laughing throughout the night.

“It was amazing to see this year’s crowd of supporters,” Kyle Walker, HVCH Foundation Board President, said. “There were many familiar faces who have supported in the past as well as newcomers we would love to see return next year. We are so thankful to everyone who donated items for the auction, for our volunteers who helped before and during the event, and for all those who purchased items. We also want to thank the Shaw family for donating the use of The Hangar for our charitable event. Every donation helps further the Foundation’s mission of supporting our local hospital.”

“Our community’s generosity is truly amazing,’” said Latricia Johnston, HVCH Chief Public Relations Officer. “Every ticket purchased, every auction item donated, and every bid placed helps ensure we can continue to provide exceptional care close to home. These contributions directly touch the lives of our patients and their families, and that’s what makes this event so meaningful.”
