As the Director of Outpatient Clinics, Meyer oversees the operations of any services someone could receive as an outpatient (medical treatment without being admitted to the hospital) including – Pain Management, Wound Care, Ophthalmology, Urology, Orthopedics, and Psychiatry.

“Each year, we select a healthcare leader of the year in honor of their exceptional leadership, dedication and impact on patient care. Clay is a hands-on leader who works closely with clinical and support teams every day, consistently demonstrating compassion, resilience, and unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality care,” Stacey Gabriel, HVCH CEO said.

Over the past year, Meyer has made remarkable contributions to the hospital including strengthening team performance, championing patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, and implementing solutions to streamline daily operations of the outpatient clinics.

“Clay stands out for his ability to lead with clarity, empathy, and a deep understanding of the realities of providing front-line healthcare. He is known for stepping in wherever he is needed, whether at bedside or in day-to-day problem solving,” Gabriel said. “He can balance nursing teams, providers and patients in a way that helps get the work done, grow our service lines and create efficient paths forward. Clay takes a boots-on-the-ground approach and will be the first person to dive in and get the work done. We appreciate Clay’s ability to bring laughter and joy to a sometimes-difficult job.”
