Three employees in the Surgery Department advance their careers

In the surgery department at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, continuous learning is more than a goal, it’s a commitment. We are proud to recognize three employees who have recently taken significant steps in their professional journeys by continuing their education and earning new degrees and certifications. Their dedication highlights the value of lifelong learning and positive impact it brings to both individual growth and organizational success.

After balancing full-time work and course work, Lexy Martin (left), a RN circulator in the OR, recently earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree at WGU where she was able to complete 13 courses in 3 months. Lexy pursued her degree to strengthen her leadership and strategic planning skills, which she applies daily in her current role. Her achievement reflects determination, discipline, and a strong desire to grow within the organization.

Beth Coulardot (middle) a trained surgical technician, recently earned her Certification in Sterile Processing, a credential that demonstrates specialized knowledge in infection prevention, instrument sterilization, and patient safety. This certification enhances Beth’s ability to ensure compliance with industry standards and supports the delivery of high-quality care. Beth’s commitment contributes directly to safety, efficiency, and excellence within our surgical and central sterile departments and throughout the organization.

Britney Pellitier (right) earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Services at WGU, a degree that deepens her understanding of community health, patient advocacy, and support services. She was able to complete 27 courses in 4 short months. Her education strengthens her ability to address the diverse needs of individuals and families while contributing to improved outcomes. While obtaining her degree, Britney worked full-time and received 4 Excellence awards in Evidence-Based Practice for Health and Human Services, Epidemiology, Health and Human Services Professional Field Experience, and Community Relations and Leadership. Her accomplishments reflect a strong commitment to service, compassion, and professional growth. Britney plans on obtaining her MBA with specialization in Healthcare in the near future.

These achievements represent more than personal milestones-they reinforce a culture that values education, perseverance, and professional development. We congratulate Lexy, Beth, and Britney on their accomplishments and thank them for inspiring others to invest in their growth.
